Cautious progress through the group stage in Milan's 1993-94 Champions League campaign mirrored their Serie A campaign with few goals scored and even fewer conceded. Monaco were dispatched comfortably in the semi-final to take Milan to Athens for a Final match-up against Johann Cruyff's powerful Barcelona side. The Catalans were in better form and Milan lacked defensive rocks Franco Baresi and Alessandro Costacurta through suspension, yet all their issues were quickly forgotten thanks to a staggeringly dominant performance and four unanswered goals from Savicevic, Desailly and two from Massaro.
